Specialist Study 1

I have to say, that I am a disaster at writing posts, reports and etc..They always tend to be short and consistent. Unfortunately I do not posse the talent to broadly speak about my work, but I will try. Without further ado
For my Specialist Study 1 is an independent project where students are required to identify their area of practice and produce a substantial piece of work. This work should apply to chosen type of audience.

Area of Practice - sculpting
The reason why I chose sculpting probably is obvious. By being a person, who has a keen interest in the production of computer games, I cannot pass by and not look into the development pipeline of CG characters. Nowadays, industries are pushing the boundaries of character realism creating more and more human - type character. Here sculpting plays an important role.

Project Overview:
to design and create a character(s) which would be imported and used in a computer game. This project includes not only designing but going though character creation process on a industry level.

Aims:

  • The aim of this project is to broaden my knowledge of human anatomy in order to sculpt a believable character for game;

  • Research character development pipeline that industries use and apply gained knowledge on practice;

  • Create high quality characters;

  • Learn to make custom materials.

Target Audience - 16+

Genre: science fiction, post-apocalyptic.

Project Outcome:
by the end of this tern I'm hoping to have a full size, textured character which is ready to be used in a game.
